Spanning 20,000 square feet across three floors, The Club can accommodate seated events for 20 to 300 guests, and receptions for up to 1500 guests. A complete list of rooms with floor plans and capacity charts can be found below. 

First Floor

  • Floor Overview
  • Great Hall

    • The heart of the club is the central Great Hall with walls of variegated marble and a forty-five foot high gold coffered ceiling. From the center of the ornate ceiling hangs a Venetian lantern, purchased from the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. A grand double staircase on the North side of the hall frames a set of five opalescent stained glass windows and faces an immense marble fireplace to the South. The Great Hall serves as a stunning pre-function or reception space for up to 250 guests.

  • West Lounge
    • Bordering 5th Avenue, the West Lounge is one of the city’s most impressive Gilded Age ballrooms. Decorative fireplaces of red and grey marble accent the room to the North and South and four mirrored panels on the East wall reflect views from Central Park across the street. Recent restoration and the addition of architectural lighting have further enhanced the intricate panel work and Renaissance style ceiling murals. With twenty four foot ceilings and rich tones of burgundy and gold, the West Lounge is a memorable setting for corporate functions and elegant galas for 150 to 340 guests.

Second Floor

  • Floor Overview
  • Library

    • Overlooking the Club’s Courtyard, the Library can accommodate dinners of 20 to 80 guests as well as cocktail receptions for up to120 guests. Appointed with oak bookcases, stained glass windows and a working fireplace, the Library’s warm decor and many interesting details make it a favorite among members and guests.

  • L.W. James Room
    • This bright and airy L-shaped room has a large open layout and an alcove with a built-in bar perfect for pre-function catering and receptions. With eight floor-to-ceiling windows and ten crystal chandeliers, the James Room is an elegant setting for corporate and social celebrations for up to 200 guests.

  • Governor's Room

    • With stunning views of Central Park and Grand Army Plaza, the Governors’ Room is a grand setting for functions ranging from 30 to 100 guests. High ceilings, an elaborately carved decorative fireplace and large crystal chandeliers complement the classical design of this stately room.

Third Floor

  • Floor Overview
  • President's Foyer

    • Host to the portraits of current and former club Presidents’ including J.P. Morgan, the foyer to the Presidents’ Foyer serves as a generous pre-function space. A vaulted ceiling with stained glass and extensive gilding make this an impressive setting for stand-up affairs and receptions for up to 220 guests.

  • President's Ballroom
    • Equal in size to the West Lounge ballroom and rivaling in beauty, the Presidents’ Ballroom has tree-lined views of Central Park. Renaissance style ceiling murals and two Baccarat crystal chandeliers are two of the ballroom's most notable features. Like the West Lounge, the Presidents’ Ballroom also features extensive gold panel work, marble fireplaces, and rich burgundy upholstery. Seated galas for up to 340 people and receptions for up to 400ppl may be accommodated in this majestic room.

  • J.P. Morgan Room
    • The namesake of the club’s founder, the JP Morgan Room is a versatile space that can be utilized as an extension of the Presidents’ Foyer or as stand-alone space for boardroom meetings and dinners. With bright walls, gilding, and a decorative fireplace, the Morgan Room overlooks the Club’s courtyard.

  • F.K. Sturgis Rooms
    • A garland of gold leaf surrounds the walls and ceilings of this warm and intimate space. The perfect setting for board meetings and intimate dinners, it can accommodate up to 22 people at one long table or 40 people at rounds. It also serves well as an anteroom or break-out space for large functions utilizing the entire third floor. Additional features of the Sturgis Room include a decorative fireplace and a floor-to-ceiling window that welcomes natural light from 60th Street.

  • L.P Morton Room
    • A companion to the Sturgis Room, the Morton Room is the perfect setting for board meetings and intimate dinners. It can accommodate up to 22 people at one long table or 40 people at rounds, and also serves well as an anteroom or break-out space. The Morton Room features two large oil paintings, a decorative fireplace, and a floor-to-ceiling window that welcomes natural light from 60th Street.

Sixth Floor

  • Penthouse

    • The glass-enclosed penthouse restaurant, which boasts unobstructed views of Central Park and the city skyline, is available for your most exclusive events on Saturdays and Sundays only. The dining room can accommodate up to 110 guests for dinner and dancing, 125 guests for seated dinners, and 200 guests for cocktail receptions. The outdoor terrace which wraps around 60th Street & Fifth Avenue can be utilized for additional cocktail space.
